The rust has got underneath the guard along the sills. Knowing Micras this will escalate quickly. The other Micra in the family is already dead, so soon we may be Micra free.

bubbling rust is ugly, worth grinding it back and hitting it with primer? which itself would also be ugly but not take long and would perhaps let the car last a little longer?

I'm not allowed to. Her (my partner) parents don't want me "messing" with it. It's their problem when it rusts through anyway.

I'm not allowed to wrench on this one. Despite having moved out and the car being in her name, my girlfriends parents dont want anyone "messing" with it. It'll amuse me when it finally rusts through due to their arrogance anyway.
